PRAYING OVER YOUR CHILDREN
The best gift you can give your children is prayer. Prayer is eternal. Since prayer can go wherever God goes, your children are always covered regardless of where they are, if you pray. Praying Scripture over your children is one of the most effective forms of prayer, because the Word of God is quick and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword.
THEIR MIND
Lord, I pray that You will help my children to capture every thought and make it obedient to You.
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. (Philippians 4:8)
THEIR EARS
Heavenly Father, there are so many voices out there that want to influence my children. I pray that You will tune them out so______can hear Your voice above them all.
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: and I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. (John 10:27–28)
THEIR HANDS
Lord, may my children use their hands to work hard and be willing to serve those in need.
Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might. (Ecclesiastes 9:10)
THEIR HEART
Teach my children to hide Your Word in their hearts.
Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. (Psalm 119:11)
THEIR EYES
I ask that You would give _____________eyes to see the wonders and goodness of who You are in the people and things around him/her. Protect their eyes from seeing the wicked and ungodly things of this world. Help them to make good choices concerning what they allow themselves to see/watch.
I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me. (Psalm 101:3)
THEIR MOUTH
Lord, may my children’s words be pleasing to You. May their manner and speech be filled with truth, gratitude, and kindness so that others may see Your handiwork in their lives.
Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight O LORD, my strength and my redeemer. (Psalm 19:14)
But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. (Colossians 3:8)
THEIR FEET
May ____________walk with the wise and not the foolish. Remove stumbling blocks from my children’s paths, and give them the courage to stand fast.
The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. (Psalm 37:23)
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. (Proverbs 3:5–6)
